Personal Oracles from the Treadmill

Thank you to Dr. Carla Goddard for sharing this post earlier in November on her wonderful blog at http://ashiramedicinewoman.blogspot.com/.
If you’re familiar with my work you know that clouds have served as conduits for many of my significant personal oracles. However, one summer in our mountain cabin, with no sky view from the treadmill this cloud gazer’s focus was redirected earthward. Early each morning I would slip past sleeping guests into the workout room for a precious 30 minutes on the treadmill where I looked out a large window at tall pine trees that stretched to the sun. One morning my physical fitness routine took on an element of adventure.
Have you ever looked at an object that
you’ve seen dozens of times and experienced it in a completely different way?
This is exactly what happened. I was marching purposefully along, immersed in
words that blared out from the CD player above the sounds of my feet hitting
the treadmill. Ekhart Tolle was explaining THE POWER OF NOW when a familiar energy
caught my attention. My focus was drawn to the image of a perfectly defined
peacock and I recognized my late mother’s unmistakable energy nestled neatly
within the needles of a pine tree that stood about twenty-five feet from the window.
I was mesmerized. My mother’s spirit was resonating to me through the form of a
peacock!
She had chosen a form that made it impossible to miss. Peacock
feathers were my mother’s passion. She placed them all around her home. They
adorned every formal flower arrangement and peeked randomly from miscellaneous
containers. The fragrance Wind Song and
the color aqua were my mother’s own personal signature.
Was there a deeper meaning associated with this unexpected
reunion with my mother from beyond the veil of separation? I referenced ANIMAL
SPEAK by Ted Andrews and discovered that a peacock symbolizes resurrection,
wise vision, heightened watchfulness and immortality. I began to sense there
was a larger purpose to my mother’s visit.
The Native American perspective that plants, trees, clouds,
rocks, fire, water are all alive is my reality. I experience how they watch us
and see our needs. How when we have nothing to protect us, they reveal themselves
and speak to us bringing timely messages of comfort and guidance. How they resonate through each
individual’s uniquely personal interpretation. Until this day on the treadmill,
clouds had been my major source of conduits for souls that have passed over.
My initiation into clouds as conduits for spirits that have
passed occurred the day after my father died when his face and energy resonated
through cloud form to my husband and me. I am deeply grateful to my father’s
spirit for opening this portal for me. Years later, my mother’s spirit expanded
my awareness by allowing me to recognize and embrace her energy through the
image that emerged in the branches of a tree. This union of Father Sky and Mother
Earth transformed ancient wisdom into living reality for me.
From the heavens to the earth and everything in between,
personal oracles speak to each of us. They resonate through every form
imaginable. As they do they deepen and enrich our life experience.
Discover what speaks to you. Open your heart. Engage your
psychic antenna. Tune in to your own mysterious messages. They are hiding in
plain sight, ready to bridge the gap between the material world and the world of
spirit.

A Personal Oracle Puzzle: What Do These Three Things Have in Common?

A flat tire, a license plate and book. You wouldn't think they would be related, but in the context of these personal oracle stories, they share one key characteristic.
The Flat Tire
My friend Amelia thrived on the pressures of her job while
an editor for a large publishing house in New York City. Nothing, however, had
prepared her for the demands of her life as a new mother. Within the first few
months of her daughter Raven Faye’s birth, she began to have recurring dreams
of flat tires.
One day, when running errands with her infant daughter in
the family car, she felt the steering wheel tugging relentlessly to one side.
The left front tire was losing air fast. Her flat tire dreams had become
reality. She wondered what Spirit was trying to tell her. She had her “aha”
moment the day she and I were discussing how metaphoric experiences can offer
valuable guidance if we take the time to reflect on them.
“I get it!” she said. “I’m just ‘flat tired.’ ”
Once she deciphered her personal oracle message – the reoccurring
dreams and then actually having a flat tire – she realized what it was telling
her on a deeper level, and she started giving herself a break throughout the
day instead of pushing ahead so hard.
The License Plate
This mother was speeding along an open stretch of road, her
mind preoccupied with all she needed to get done before she picked her daughter
up at school when a license plate caught her attention. She touched the brake
and slowed down to get a closer look at the letters – GVT – and was pondering
the significance of the abbreviation for “government “when something else
caught here eye. It was a speed camera. Her heart skipped a beat, then she
realized the GVT license plate had slowed her down just enough to keep her from
getting a speeding ticket!
The Book
Terry was
struggling to get her bearings and regroup after her long-term love ended their
relationship. She had no clue of what to do next, so she put the lead on her
dog Sammy and headed straight to the park nearby where she planned to walk till
they dropped.
The two walked
and jogged and finally ended up sitting underneath one of her favorite trees.
Terry leaned back against the tree, closed her eyes and rested her hand on
Sammy’s back. She was deep in thought when something bounced off her head and
landed on the ground.
Startled, she
opened her eyes and there in front of her was a book.
What just
happened? Had someone tossed this book at her?
She looked up
into the tree; no one was there.
She stood up,
looked in every direction and even walked around the tree. Still no one.
She picked up
the book and read the title. God is No
Laughing Matter.
She recognized
the author, Julia Cameron, as someone who teaches people how to get unstuck.
Talk about a sign!
Terry and her friends never did figure out how it happened.
The best guess: someone tucked the book in between the branches of the tree
while they walked and planned to pick up later, then a breeze nudged it right
off onto Terry’s head.
What do the flat
tire, the license plate and the book have in common?
These synchronistic events may seem to be random, until we
look through the paradigm of personal oracles and we see that the universe was
responding to these women’s distinct and very specific needs.
Using the formula for how the universe operate , the flat
tire, the license plate and the book were all acting as delivery systems.
Need
+ delivery system + message = personal oracle

Guardian Angels, Ghosts and Bodhisattvas

In my October 29th blog, “What’s In A Number?,” I shared Steven’s intriguing series of personal oracles that were delivered by the number 12. You might remember that at the end of his email, he offered to share how he met his guardian angel.
I expected his
guardian angel to be an ethereal being that appeared to him in a dream or
vision. Well, I was wrong!
Steven’s email:
Hi Ann,
I will tell you
about he day I met my guardian angel.
I don't remember
exactly what year it was but it was in the mid 1990s. That morning about 10:00,
I was driving north on Highway 75 in Dallas approaching the Campbell Road exit
in the right lane when I heard a noise under the truck.
I knew what it
was. A universal joint had just busted and the drive shaft had fallen out from
under the truck and was dragging on the highway.
A few days
before that I had noticed that the universal joints seemed to have just a
little too much play in them and I had purchased a set of new ones in
anticipation of changing them soon.
My mind raced as
I quickly assessed the situation. I was still moving and had control of the
vehicle, so I knew it had to be the rear u-joint just ahead of the center bearing
that had shattered. That was the good news.
Had the front
u-joint failed, it would have dropped the front of the drive shaft and once
that hit the pavement and hit a crack or hole at highway speed, it could have
vaulted the rear end of the truck into the air! My own inertia would have been
my worst enemy at that moment.
As it stood, I
knew that because I was dragging the drive shaft, not pushing it, I could use
inertia to my best advantage. I put the transmission in neutral to stop the
drive shaft from spinning around and possibly doing more damage and kept my
foot off of the brake.
I had brakes if
I needed them, but I knew that once I stopped, I would be unable to move the
vehicle again. Since the engine was still running, I also had steering and I
was coming to an exit. I coasted on to the exit ramp, pulled to the right about
halfway down the ramp and stopped on a wide spot on the shoulder.
At the time, I
was doing freelance work installing phone systems, so I had all of that
equipment in the back of my old yellow 1971 Chevy truck.
I got out and
secured the drive shaft to the frame with an old piece of telephone wire that I
had in the bed of the truck.
No sooner than I
had finished doing that, a guy pulled up behind me in a clean white late model
Chevrolet truck and asked if I could use some help.
Let me describe
this guy.
I am 6' 2"and
he was as tall as me. He had a full head of straight,t thick light blonde hair
that was neatly cut and tapered to an average length above his collar.
He wore a
spotless white collared long sleeved shirt, clean new blue jeans and brown
boots or shoes that looked new.
His hands and
nails appeared to be perfectly clean.
He appeared to
be in his late twenties or early thirties.
He was a very
good-looking guy with handsome facial features.
His skin was
perfectly white and flawless, no freckles moles wrinkles or blemishes of any
kind.
Now, I have
light blue eyes but this guy had the deepest and brightest blue eyes that I had
ever seen.
He wasn't
wearing any jewelry, rings or a watch that I could see.
I don't think he
had a cell phone either, now that I think about it.
He said, "I'm on my way to a ski trip in Colorado. Could you use some help?" I
told him I needed a push to someplace where I could get my truck fixed. He said
there was a Texaco station on Arapaho Road about a mile east of where we were. He
put his truck behind mine and pushed it to the station.
The station
manager was aggravated because he couldn't get the phone company to come out
and install a phone jack for his new lottery ticket machine. I offered to do it
in exchange for replacing my u-joints. He was more than happy to do that and
even offered to drive me back to my place to get the parts.
I stepped back
outside. The guy with the white truck was still there. "Is there anything
else I can do for you?" he asked.
"No," I said, "I think I'll be OK now."
"What's
your name?” I asked.
"David,"
he replied.
"Do you
have a business card, David?" I asked him.
"No, I
don't," he said.
"Well,
David," I said, "you're my guardian angel today."
At that moment,
he kind of looked down like I'd caught him and I wasn't supposed to know, but
he didn't say anything.
Then, I shook
his hand, and gave him one of those manly one-armed handshake-hugs, you know,
like guys will do and said "David, Thanks for all your help and God bless
you, and I mean that. Who knows what might have happened had you not stopped
and helped. You probably saved my life."
As he drove off,
I noticed the license tag on his truck, and I wrote it down thinking it might
be interesting to look it up sometime, but I never did. I have long since lost
that piece of paper, but I will never forget the day I met David, my guardian
angel.
Steven Reed
Steven describes his guardian angel, David, as a flesh and blood man. Yet,
the description of his amazing blue eyes, no rings, watch or cell phone – combined
with the sentence “he kind of looked down
like I'd caught him and I wasn't supposed to know, but he didn't say anything,”
leaves me wondering….
Is Steven suggesting David was a spiritual being that manifested
momentarily into physical form?
What do you think?
Steven’s experience reminds me of the account in my book of Telley Ssvallas,
aka “Kojak” who had a personal oracle delivered by a “ghost,”a man who died
three years prior helped him when his car broke down in the early hours of a 1954
summer morning.
With so many mysteries in our world: guardian angels, ghosts and bodhisattvas
that materialize into physical form and then returning to the world of spirit One thing is certain…
The universe is
designed to respond to our needs and it operates using this formula.
Need + delivery system + message = personal
oracle
On this particular day, when Steven needed help his delivery
system arrived in the form of David, his guardian angel.
Steven,
Thanks again for sharing your numerology story and this
thought provoking account of the day you met your guardian angel. Please let me know when you have more
personal oracle experiences to share.
All the best,
Ann

Polka Dots and Blue Corn Feathers: Spontaneous vs. Requested Personal Oracles
5:00 AM | Posted by
Anonymous
One thing is certain: the universe is designed
to respond to our needs.
You can check it out using this formula:
Need
+ Delivery System + Message = Personal Oracle
Let’s take a look at a couple of ways this
support system works.
Spontaneous
Personal Oracles vs. Requested Personal Oracles
Spontaneous personal oracles occur with no
effort on our part because the universe is set on automatic pilot to immediately sense and respond to our pressing
needs
Special requested personal oracles operate outside of the
automatic pilot system. But rest assured: your requests do elicit a response.
It’s just that decoding the response can be tricky and easy to miss.
The following two stories illustrate how these two types of oracles
work. In the first story, watch how the universe shifts into automatic pilot and
spontaneously responds to Kathy’s very precise need without her specifically
asking for help. (By the way, Kathy designs and makes shamanic dolls.)
Recently,
I needed more black-and-white polka dotted bird feathers for a doll headdress.
As soon as I needed them, they started showing up on the front porch of my
house. This went on for about a week. Never before had this happened. Since the
feathers can’t fall from a beam or anything, I’m not sure how they got there.
I also needed
solid black feathers in the same length for another headdress. I did not
specify my wants to the Universe. I was just grateful the polk- dotted feathers
were appearing.
Yesterday,
however, I came home and on my porch were new feathers. They were polka dotedt
at the bottom and black at the top. I had a good chuckle at that one. Hope you
do too!
Now, here’s a story, submitted via this website, about a specific
oracle request.
Ann,
I was
telling my friend Tiffany to re-read Illusions
by Richard Bach. I told her to ask the Universe to show her that her requests
were being answered and to be specific, unlike the guy in Illusions who asks to find a blue feather. This
fellow looks and looks on the ground but can't find one. Finally, it shows up,
but instead of being on the ground, it’s pictured on the label of a can of corn
called Blue Feather.
The moral of the story: Be specific in your requests, but also look
for your personal oracles in unsuspecting places.
Decoding personal oracle messages is like being on a treasure hunt
where we encounter fantastic surprises at every turn. Underlying it all is the
comfort of knowing that the universe is tuned in and ready to support us –
always.
If you’re curious and want to see what her shamanic dolls look like,
Kathy Colletti and her dolls will be featured in an article in the February
2014 issue of Art Doll Quarterly
magazine.
